Inching closer to respective party conventions for statewide offices, endorsements are lining up including key Dem party leaders on behalf of Bridgeport attorney Chris Mattei, candidate for attorney general.
Mattei news release:
Democratic Town Committee chairs Ed Camacho of Norwalk, Steve Sheinberg of Fairfield, and Adam Halberg of Easton today announced their endorsements of former Assistant United States Attorney Chris Mattei for Attorney General. They join prominent grassroots leaders throughout Fairfield County who are supporting Mattei, including Greenwich Selectman and former Assistant Attorney General of the United States Sandy Litvack and Democratic Town Committee Chairs Laura Orban of Brookfield and Davie Gioiello of Shelton.
“I’m honored to have the support of these exceptional Fairfield County leaders. They know, as I do, that Connecticut’s families need an Attorney General who will take on corruption, protect our communities from the Trump administration’s dangerous policies, and providing a voice to those who need it most,” said Mattei. “I’m proud to have Ed, Steve, Adam, Laura, Dave, Sandy and so many others on our team as we march towards the Democratic convention and the August primary.”
“Chris has vast experience leading high stakes investigations, and fighting for the people of Connecticut against abuses of power by big banks, corrupt politicians, scam artists, and others. As an attorney, I know how tough some of those fights have been, and I know Chris has the expertise to keep winning for us in court. I’m proud to support him and I know he’ll always be on our side as Attorney General,” said Ed Camacho, Norwalk Democratic Town Committee Chair.
“As an Assistant United States Attorney, Chris stood up in court for people who didn’t have anyone else on their side. From seniors who were being defrauded by scam artists to victims of gun violence, Chris has been there for the people of Connecticut. He is without a doubt the best candidate for Attorney General and I am proud to endorse him,” said Steve Sheinberg, Fairfield Democratic Town Committee Chair.
The Democratic State Convention is May 18-19, and the Democratic primary is August 14.
zzzzz…How about some info/dish on the Republican side of things. Let’s face it;there is a very good probability that we may have Republican Governor and a Republican State Senate..possibly even the State Representatives. This is an important issue.
