Is Jim Fox, Democratic candidate for City Council, Underdog? Is he Mr. Peepers, America’s favorite science teacher? No how, no way, he says. At a forum Wednesday night featuring Black Rock City Council incumbents Sue Brannelly, Marty McCarthy and their opponents Jill Hughes and Fox, that cutting OIB commentator Fox had the line of the night.
Said Fox, “If you elect me to the City Council I’ll make Bob Walsh look like Mr. Peepers.” Walsh, of course, is the council’s vocal watchdog retiring after 16 years of service on the legislative body. If you think Walsh has a bite, can you imagine Fox on the council?

Yes, I can’t just “imagine” Jim Fox on the Council, I can see him there already. If there is anyone who I can say was there when I needed him, Jim Fox is the first who comes to my mind.
I’m pretty sure a Fox has a more vicious bite than a Troll. I’d love to see both Walsh and Fox on the Council–now that would be interesting to watch and hear.

This webzine should not allow itself to be used to make gross, unsubstantiated and outrageous claims by people seeking public office.
Before Mr. Fox is allowed to make assertions of competence in the field of Bob Walsh, an expert panel should be joined to consider the matter.
I propose such assertions need to be evaluated in expert testimony–and the only expert necessary to testify is Mr. Fox–before Mayor Bill Finch and Alderman Evette Brantley.
Tie-breaking vote? No petitions allowed from Santa Ayala. No absentee ballots by Mario Testa or his designees. I’d say the tie-breaker has to go to Walsh.
