From Andy Tsubasa Field, CT Post:
Brown is aiming to open the lounge, called In the City, on Oct. 1. Its name represents the combination of different cities in one place, Brown said.
Early designs show a colorfully lit establishment decorated with paintings of global cities like Paris, Dubai and Singapore. Brown envisions the paintings to mark different sections of the lounge, paying homage to his days traveling the world as a cruise ship cook in the ’90s.
“So if you go to In The City, where are you sitting? I’m sitting in Dubai tonight, or you’re sitting in Paris tonight,” Brown said. “Or you’re sitting in Park City.”
… He said he wants In The City to celebrate the cultural exchanges of Bridgeport life, keeping standing room to minimum to “bring people together to sit down and enjoy each other’s company.”
Brown says In The City’s menu–which he is still developing–won’t be “Caribbean-based” like Grill II, but the upcoming establishment will also feature themed parties. He says the lounge will host rodeo-themed nights, and another event where residents can dress up like celebrities.
