City faith leader Herron Gaston, Bridgeport’s Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, cruised to a big win to represent Connecticut’s 23rd State Senate District, according to unofficial returns.
Gaston ran up huge margins across the district, against Republican Mike Garrett and Working Families Party Juliemar Ortiz, that covers about two thirds of Bridgeport and a portion of western Stratford.
Democratic officials gravitated to Gaston who defeated incumbent Dennis Bradley in a tight August primary following Bradley’s federal indictment for alleged connivance of Connecticut’s campaign finance laws.
