A 31-year-old man has been arrested after he shot and killed a city resident in a local store Thursday night, robbing him after he was dead, according to police.
Police identified the victim Friday as 23-year-old Clinton Taylor, who lived on West Avenue. Taylor–who also went by “Clint”–was the grandson of former Bridgeport city councilwoman Denese Taylor-Moye, his lawyer, Michael Riley, confirmed.
“It’s a terrible tragedy,” Riley said of his client’s death.
He was fatally shot in Sammy’s Grocery & Dollar Store at 500 Park Ave. around 9:15 p.m., police said. Officers responded to a call about a person shot in the store and arrived to find Taylor dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
