A community fundraiser is planned for April 23, from 2 to 10 p.m. on behalf of families and businesses impacted by a March 19 fire in Black Rock. From www.blackrockrocks.org:
On Saturday, March 19, a fire struck the heart of Black Rock at 2914 Fairfield Avenue, displacing 10 tenants—8 families and 2 landmark businesses, Marty’s Brick Oven Pizza and Varsity Barber. In response to this tragic event, BlackRock Rocks is planning a community fundraiser for those that lost so much in that fire.
We’re planning an afternoon of music and community. The event will take place at the S.S. Norden Club, 4 Seabright Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06605-3460 in the epicenter of BlackRock, within walking distance to much of the community.
Event Admission is $15.00 with a cash bar available and food for purchase. We will also be hosting a 50/50 raffle several times throughout the day.
Our focus for this event is to raise funds to help the tenants of the building at 2914 Fairfield Avenue, while also bringing the community together in a show of support.
Donations of Salads, and other side dishes accepted with grateful appreciation.
Please contact info@blackrockrocks.org or 203-400-9509 for information.
Rain Date is April 30th.
What percentage of the proceeds will be going to the 8 displaced families?
100% of the profits from this event will be donated to the 10 tenants of this building.
