On one level it’s a short drive from Brooklawn to Black Rock, but on another a Rory McIloy-type blast across a few neighborhoods.
For more than 40 years the 19th Hole Bar & Grill was the final stop after 18 holes of golf across the legendary Brooklawn Country Club where Bridgeport’s own Gene Sarazen head-hunted flagsticks on his way to the Hall of Fame, one of only a handful of players to win all four major championships.
The pub recently relocated to Fairfield Avenue in Black Rock the former location of Hub & Spoke, just in time to join last week’s crowd-pleasing Porchfest music celebration.
Hmm, wonder if Mulligan stew is on the menu.
