For Gaming Proponents, Dargan Drops Turd In Punch Bowl

State Rep. Steve Dargan, at a Public Safety Committee information hearing for online gaming, said not this year. From the Hartford Courant:

The battle lines have been drawn over whether the state should legalize online gaming but debate over the contentious issue may have to wait for another day.

Rep. Steve Dargan, co-chair of the legislature’s public safety and security committee, said this morning the committee does not intend to file an internet gaming bill in the 2012 legislative session. The public safety committee traditionally has jurisdiction over gaming matters, however it’s possible that another committee could raise the issue.

“We are in the infancy stage of trying to understand this issue,” said Dargan, D-West Haven.

  1. Start by regulating the table games, for years the two Casinos have been cheating patrons out of their money.
Why would you need a computer under a Roulette wheel or three-card poker table?
Now this State wants to give the Casinos a new way to cheat. Please!

  2. What is this–Darwin’s waiting room?

Empirical data to support the benefit of regulation does not exist. Reality–however interpreted–is always a goal at OIB.

Cheating never happens because gambling is voluntary. Since the world began, it’s always been a high-margin business.

SECURITY is a fantastic reason to have a computer near gaming activities.

Using the lesser-of-two-evils policy, I hope the casinos are closed and substituted by online gaming.
