From city Communications Director Brett Broesder:
This afternoon, a three-alarm fire occurred at 350 Hanover Street. Four structures were involved in the fire, and the building where the flames initiated from had already collapsed once firefighters had arrived on scene.
No injuries have been reported thus far. However, fire officials heroically rescued three people and a pet.

“Our heroic firefighters are on the scene and continuing to fight the flames, but this is another example of why Bridgeport has one of the best fire departments in the country. As our firefighters work to beat back the fire, we ask that the community remain calm and work with us to ensure the safety and security of everyone in our city.”
One major hurdle the fire department had to overcome with this particular scene was narrow road access in the area.
