Contrasting Joe Ganim’s corruption past, the first 30-second commercial by Mayor Bill Finch’s reelection team focuses on his accomplishments building schools, expanding access to pre-k and opening up the waterfront.
The spot opens with Ganim acknowledging he broke the public trust then segues to Finch looking into the camera highlighting progress.

Bill Finch’s cabinet is standing in shit up to their necks, shouting at Joe Ganim “Don’t make a wave!”
Way too short to make an impression. Finch’s media coordinator is penny wise and pound foolish.
The Bridgeport Kid = The End of Civility.
Re-elect Mayor Bill Finch because, more than making a wave, he’s turning a corner in Bridgeport. Think of the future.
Fuck you and Finch.
You ought to go on the road with the Cole Brothers Circus. They need a Delusional Man for the freak show. I’m sure they’ll provide all the booze you can drink.
Hey CI Local Eyes, is that the same corner in Bridgeport you turned after your failed attempt to set me up on a marijuana buy?
ACF, TBK and JG, OIB is the winner’s circle in Bridgeport and you’re all charter members of “Lennie’s Clubhouse.” Just because you’ve blogged here doesn’t mean you have what it takes to stay here without breaking the rules. Don’t be afraid to prove me wrong.
Excellent commercial, I have to agree it is way too short. There are so many more positives in Bridgeport, Downtown Housing and new restaurants, redoing the derelict buildings on 95 housing, charter school and grocery store, UB condominiums, new train station, new library by Beardsley Park at the old Fitzwillys, Charles Smith Library, new schools, waterparks, etc. etc. etc.
Acknowledgement from the White House on Green initiatives, Fuel cell and Green Jobs! Moving Ferry to Steelpointe, increasing traffic and capturing dollars as well as enhancing the image of the city to be equivalent to Port Jefferson. All the new parks and ballfields. The NRZ initiatives. The new Jewish home, Sacred Heart expansion into the former ICC. New Charter School Downtown. Make it a positive! Bijou Square. How about some personal endorsements from developers? How about 333 State street and the professional building as well as all the projects proposed by Eric Anderson, Forstone and Spinnaker. How about Greenport apts? New apts on Stratford Avenue and Newfield Park and Steelpointe, Steelpointe, Steelpointe!!!
Steve, ask people. Did any of these things help increase their paycheck or reduce their taxes?
Ron Mackey, why ask them depressing questions? What can your candidate offer? People get caught up in my enthusiasm and I move on. I cannot imagine what you say when you knock on doors. Oh wait, I offered you an opportunity to come over for a beer and we could knock on doors together. You would have seen the average voter excited about Finch. They understand economic development is the only way to reduce taxes and people are extremely excited with all the proposed developments that are actually happening. What’s your candidate going to do about our paychecks?
For knowing what’s going on, being super-informed and using OIB to prove it, I nominate Steven Auerbach as Only in Bridgeport’s blogger of the day.
Saw Steven Auerbach’s photo in an old issue of Hustler magazine. He was cited as “asshole of the month.”
Local Eyes, Thank You.
Bridgeport Kid, Thank you for your mature comments.
Andy, you always make my day!
One suck-up applauding another suck-up.
Birds of a feather, etc.
Who would hire, without a background check, a Bill Finch who had been fired from six private-sector jobs? Joe Ganim, in the early 1990s.
Maybe I misspoke. Maybe Finch was only fired from four private-sector jobs, not the six I previously referenced. Whatever, he’s a joke.
Getting Better Every Day?

Did you miss this story?
Two people have been arrested in the June shooting at Trumbull Gardens. Those arrested were identified as Jamal “Moo Moo” Hamilton, 24, and Kevan “Web” Bennett, also 24. The two are expected to be arraigned Wednesday, on charges of murder, eight counts of assault in the first degree and various weapons charges. Both suspects are currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.
Although it is hardly the mayor’s fault people in BPT do not know how to behave What is the new Democrat campaign promise? A chicken in every pot and a cop in every living room.
NHS, UB, CNB, Guenster, GBT; I count five jobs Finch was fired from. Maybe I forgot one or two, though.
