Early Voting Begins Monday

Early voting across Connecticut starts Monday, for Bridgeport at the Margaret Morton Government Center, 999 Broad Street.

The main event nationally for Nov. 3, will Democrats seize control of the House and Senate?

In Connecticut polls consistently show Democrat Ned Lamont with a comfortable lead over Republican Ryan Fazio.

For the first time anyone can recall, most Democratic members of Bridgeport’s legislative delegation have no Republican opponent, a strategic product of the GOP limiting the amount of general election dollars Dems can spend to pull a vote under the state’s public financing program. No opponent means less public dollars.

Probate Judge Paul Ganim, coming off a combative primary win over Mark Bradley who is under investigation for election fraud, has no general election opponent so will receive another four-year term.

See sample ballots below.

  1. No opponent for the blue candidates to face may be a result of the strategy employed by Republicans to limit campaign dollars, or it may be the movement of too many folks who used to vote Republican dismayed by a representative of the party demonstrating a personal rejection of historical norms across the board and staying quiet in the meantime. Or Republican virtues, values, and policy may disappear when the volley of hatred, anger, and outrage at “others unlike us” who are genuinely “neighbors in pursuit of an honorable effort at happiness” is the order and message of the day.
Voices may be heard at the margins of “party politics” locally but they have no meaning when CIVICS study is not a major emphasis in the public schools. That is why CASUAL CIVICS CONVERSATIONS began and was introduced to the Bridgeport City Council in October 2024. I will remind you again of an opportunity to be welcome at Wood’s End Deli at 9AM Saturday morning for one hour of municipal questions and answers about city governance. Not political power. Then you can move on to other democratic practices like the NO KING protest near Police HQ on Congress St and City Hall on Lyon Terrace from 1-2:30 PM. Time will tell.

But have you learned anything from our friendship? 🤣

    Or 🙂

Any viable Red, R candidate in a deep-blue, D, state or city? Don’t even bother because the elections are so politically corrupt and fraudulent. 🙂

I mean, there’s this one deep red, D, city that hasn’t had an honest, fair election in over a quarter century, at least. 🙂

Perhaps a unified peace treaty of politically corrupt elections, based on the level. 🙂

Before that, I “read” the mayors were sporting bulletproof garments

Perhaps you heard of it. There is this blog/web magazine; I mean, the best ESL class ever. 🙂 that covers local politics; its host took an involuntary leave of absence from its political courtesy of the federal government with free lodging and boarding in what they called “Operation Hardball”😀

In its current news, a few city elected officials/player faceing governmental involuntary leave of absence, while a few got off.

There’s one former elected city/state official who involuntarily gave up his law license and his political State Senate seat/ career, in a sense, with the ink not even dry on this corruption conviction. He got caught up in Operation ” Gangster Grandma” 🙂

While working on behalf of his brother, who partnered up with the person who torpedoed his Senate seat, political career, and involuntarily gave the state his law license.

To be fair, not saying there’s no room for playing nice; political corruption. I am just JS 🤣

    Free Maria. 🙂

In the spirit of gangster grandma.

  3. PS John

Speaking of the People March/No Kings Protest and corruption. 🙂

Let’s look at the words. 🙂

The People’s March: Ok, what are y’all marching about?

No Kings: Never was, never will be. At best, perhaps a totalitarian one-party rule. 🙂

Neighbors not ICE: Open borders, no immigration laws. 🙂

While new, my favorite corruption-speaking. 🙂

Hands of our Vote: I can only assume they are talking about the

” The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (also referred to as the SAVE America Act), which is proposed U.S. federal legislation that requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections”
