Sujata For State Senate Defeats The Boys – Finch, Burns, Mack

Quinnipiac Law School professor Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox has won the Democratic primary to replace a retiring Marilyn Moore over three opponents, former Mayor Bill Finch, City Councilman Scott Burns and ex councilman Tyler Mack, riding a wave in her Trumbull home town and running competitively in several Bridgeport precincts.

She is a heavy favorite to win the general election over Republican Chris Carrena.

Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox celebrates win with a contingent of Bridgeport supporters, from left in cap former State Rep. Bob Keeley, ex City Councilman Joel Gonzalez, and erstwhile state legislators Lee Samowitz and Chris Caruso.
Sujata waves to supporters Tuesday night at Bridgeport headquarters.
Sujata hugs State Senator Herron Gaston who also won on Tuesday. Bill Finch, at right, also congratulates her.

  1. I guess Trumbull is no longer going to a launching pad for Port’s mayorship, which was the case for Moore being elected. However, I was looking forward to Finch, Gamin’s rematch. It was energetic. However, I am pretty sure G2 wasn’t going to mend any fences though. 🤣

Yeah, for Eye Candy 🍬 😂

    Waiting for Baker’s results.

Gen Now, Mark seems to be the biggest all-around loser, give up his CC seat, unless can get him a BR CC seat.

I depart with Kenny R Port.

    1. Well said, Tom!!!!
How long has it been since four local qualified candidates of the Democratic identity, three residing in Bridgeport though not publicly endorsed by the Bridgeport DTC, pursued an office with at least two forums to answer public questions with informed intelligent answers and ground efforts to persuade eligible voters to elect them to an important State post.
Sujata had a presence and professed policy that was welcomed and the primary run was an opportunity for community conversations among those diverse elements of the 22’d District. Where is the Republican candidate who will contest her in November? How will Bill, Tyler, and Scott pursue public service, going forward?
What will develop for each (and obviously) all of us as an outcome of voting in November and hopefully the certification and placement of ‘victors’ in office? Time will tell.

  2. If you think about it, while Finch was an odd duckling to get back in politics though understandable for a future rematch run against G2. Mack is even odder to give up his CC seat on a very long shot. He seems to be a sacrificial lamb to thwart Finch. Logically speaking.

The big question is who is going to run against G2 in 3 plus years? Chris is the most logical contender. which makes it an interesting racial game, coupled with the disdain for G2/Mario, depending on how you want to look at it.
