City Councilwoman Eneida Martinez, co-chair of the Ordinance Committee, says she will commence a special meeting to exempt school buses from new regulations targeting heavy commercial vehicles from street parking, a measure urged by bus drivers. City lawyers are crafting an amended ordinance for a carve out for school buses.
Meanwhile, Martinez is rallying bus drivers to attend the speaking portion of Tuesday’s council meeting to make their voices heard.
Litigious City Councilwoman Maria Pereira, in a Facebook post, however, pledges to meet with “a lawyer…should the City Council and Police Commission attempt to create an exemption for school buses serving the BPS.”

In the spirit of Labor Day, let me voice my opinion. 🙂
I know you love your words, people. While we can debate the validity and sincerity of them, in this case, I will just say “please” 🤣
I mean, Lennie, “Litigious City Councilwoman Maria Pereira” 🤣
For someone who our host has been saying who can’t afford a high-profile attorney like the other CC members and has been relying on and gaming the system with public defenders. She surely finds a way to get attorneys to constantly go to court, “litigiously” speaking,🤣
That being said, to these words, I say “super,” please. 🤣
Safety First: Gives drivers a safe place to rest and recharge time
Time Matters: Ensure they are on time for every route
Fairness: They keep our children safe. Let’s support their tools
Community impact: Strong drivers, strong schools and a strong Bridgeport
What this really mean, IMO is :
Give the bus drivers a convenient place to park on our city streets while they wait for their next route to begin, regardless of the inconvenience they impose on the community by parking their bus on community streets and the blight they cause. There is nothing fair about this other than the disingenuousness of using kids as a means of support, an unfair measure to combat blight parking on the Port.
Just like the abomination of a $250 ticket for passing a bus when the stop sign is not fully erected, and the bus lights are flashing as they are stopping the bus, and you pass it, Enjoy the road #greed. Or not what do I know.
Speaking of double standards, thought, this is kind of like when two people are dragged into court “litigiously”, prosecutionally speaking, Lennie. 🙂 who pleads the 5th on grounds of self-incrimination of political corruption. And only one gets charges levied against them by the prosecution.

I literally had the governmental office of Unemployment “intervene” “disingenuously” and take employment from me on something I didn’t say or do, months after the fact, that someone told they hate me for what I did.
