What’s it like out there? Remember a year ago when the record blizzard snowfall clobbered the city? Even the National Guard came in.

Haven’t seen nor heard a plow yet.
Me neither.
*** I’m sure Manny’s charging the city a pretty penny for his caterpillars to remove snow, no? ***
No.
The question is are we really paying him for snow removal? If we are who hired him and why? Was the person who hired him a friend like Ricci was?
Andy, I’m told it was actually Manny’s son who lives in the West Side just helping neighbors.
If that’s the case, that’s cool.
That is the case. From what I understand, this is not the first time, either.
Glendale has been plowed a few times.
Manny usually charges about $75 an hour for use of the caterpillar, but Finch insists on paying him $150.
With last year’s blizzard, Bridgeport did a horrible job. But they learned from those mistakes and all things considered, Bridgeport has done a good job with this year’s snowstorms.
To make clearing streets even more efficient, they will have to keep enforcing the alternate side of the street parking, snow emergency street rules etc. The only way is to do it consistently even if they take heat for towing and ticketing.
I recall having spoken to a friend last year after that blizzard and was told Scott (if I remember correctly) Moutinho plowed that area at no charge to anyone–just as a goodwill gesture to his neighbors.
