Audience members will discuss education, health care, job development and state safety-net services with their legislators. Discussion will focus on ways in which the Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition, our community and our legislators can work together on what Bridgeport children and families need most in the current economic downturn.
After discussion, all forum participants will be asked to sign the “Bridgeport Children’s Bill of Rights for Education.”
WHEN: Tuesday, December 6, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
WHERE: Mount Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604
WHY: Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition encourages action on key legislative issues for children every year. This year’s discussion will focus on major topics in education, health care, job development and state-funded safety net services for low-income families.
With the reconstitution of the Bridgeport Board of Education and the court challenge of that reconstitution, BCAC felt it important to outline a set of core principles that we believe are essential in our education system.
This annual forum is an opportunity for Bridgeport legislators to report on the outlook at the state level and discuss what they will do to support Bridgeport’s children and families. It is also a time for community members to demonstrate their support for the critical issues affecting children and families.

*** BCAC is a “Joke” like the BRBC, no? No rules, spend more money, liberal advocacy studies that have amounted to very little improvement in Bpt schools in general! Enough talking at political hype meetings, time to sue the city BOE school system & state all together for lack of a successful quality education for all public school kids! *** National Attention ***
