A car traveling at a high rate of speed on Helen Street, cut across two lanes of traffic while leaving his fender and other car body parts on the green, then crossed two more lanes remarkably not hitting any other cars. He then hit Lakeview Cemetery’s fence, went airborne sailing over the first rows of tombstones, hitting the second row of tombstones, before hitting the payment of the drive taking up a couple inches of pavement. The car continued for another fifty feet before hitting more tombstones and coming to a stop.
We are told the driver appeared to be under the influence of something other than alcohol. He was conscious but out of it according to witnesses. We are told he had an outstanding warrant and will be going to jail after a visit to the hospital. The car was registered to a woman in Florida but was not stolen.
