Catalina Acevedo, part of a slate of candidates that withdrew their names from participating in a Democratic Town Committee primary battle in the Upper East Side 138th District, shares this perspective about the resignations and dubious relationship between City Councilwoman Maria Pereira and New Movement Party Chair Tony Barr.
I have a comment about the interview with Tony Barr. I think it’s very unfair for him to be talking nonsense about Maria Pereira. When really we didn’t want him in the community to begin with. He kept calling Maria, because he didn’t even know when we were meeting or where! I personally told Maria not to accept him in the committee because he was a loose cannon. And in past experiences with him he’s a very nasty man! We all withdrew from the committee because no one wanted to deal with him and that’s the truth. Maybe instead of taking his word for it just because there’s an agenda against Pereira as informative personal you have the right to give us the truth not the BS of a half wacko.

Truth? Please! 🙂
Wasn’t much of an interview.
It was rich to see Maria invite Tony. I mean, what happened to “once some lie to me”, Maria?
The Port’s political scene is so corrupt that they stream it live, people. 🤣
Port’s political scene is so corrupt and “disingenuous” that Maria “voted” for this shit show, freak show, in which she stars in. I mean, there was a time Maria could’ve voted for Boyd to oppose “motorboat”, No?
However, it would have been “logical” In the same sense why was Mark “Hamburger” (believe my OIB Comrades Ron and Day called him) was there, moonlighting for the city, nonsensical, corrupt, retardation shit show, freak show, instead of Tyisha Toms?
That being said, think about it this way. The Port is so corrupt that they live-streamed a CC meeting showing the Port’s willingness to corrupt the system that generally plays out behind closed doors.
Not that I am against corruption, per se, but for the most part, Port Pols corruption tends to corrupt downward. Like that, Thermal deuce dropped on the Port. 😂
The Port is so corrupt that it makes our elected officials feel like they aren’t even doing anything wrong. That’s how to institutionalize corruption in the Port’s political system. 🤣
We are so corrupt that we honor it and them in style. #livestream

Good Job, Port, at playing nice.

Speaking of deuces, it’s funny because… 🙂

Speaking of corruption and in the spirit of playing nice. My perspective
Free Maria and the rest of AB “enthusiasts” should be dismissed after completion of a fair and lengthy (accordingly and actually) real community service at the rescue mission/food bank, feeding/serving the underprivileged. You know, “really” helping others as a means without “really” helping yourselves.
Including Bradley, as well as him not going into politics, and Wandy staying retired from public employment, considering the fact of “evidence.”
Good luck with that.

My bad, 🙂

Can’t Depart OIB Without the Prophet.
Good Luck, Port.

Tony Barr has dressed with stripes going both ways, hasn’t he.
Politicians who profess stories where truth seems to go in opposite directions within the same context on different days, are likely to lose the trust of those whom they court with words.
Why don’t we seek ACTION from officials and leaders that makes sense on HOUSING, ENERGY, and ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
What resource has the City Council or Mayor regularly supported to assure FAIR HOUSING in Bridgeport?
When the City Council provided an Ordinance giving life to Fair Rent Commission after nearly 20 year of ‘death in plain sight’, have we acheived their purpose yet?
The largest group of residents in the City are Renters, in contrast to Owner types (including CoOps and Condos), or the ‘unhoused’, formerly called homeless.
How many HUD supported units with residents are within the City? Is there a City officialdom who handles the concerns of folks living there? Where do the truths of housing issues reveal themselves today? Time will tell.
