  1. Congratulations Dennis Bradley. The speech was excellent and your acknowledgement of your mentors was respectful . Your words were timely and clearly very well received. I could not see Marilyn Moore’s facial expressions during Mr. Bradley’s speech but she is my State Senator and I could not imagine her having any negative expressions during Bradley’s speech. It would have made her look absolutely ridiculous. Perhaps Maria, you are creating a fake news story. I think Bradley will get along very well with the entire Bridgeport delegation. . He has a huge following that will support and encourage him every step of the way.

Congratulations to our entire delegation, State Senator Marilyn Moore, State Senator Dennis Bradley, State Rep Andre Baker, State Rep Christopher Rosario, State Rep Ezequiel Santiago, State Rep Steven Stastrom, State Rep Jack Hennesy and State Rep Charlie Stallworth.

With Teamwork and communication Bridgeport is going to soar. I know most people will get behind this delegation and support their efforts.

    1. Steven Auerbach, you said, “The speech was excellent and your acknowledgement of your mentors was respectful .” So who are those mentors who have mold and taught Dennis Bradley?

    1. Tom White, you just can’t resist taking a cheap shot at an African American. Some things never change. I am sure Your Town Committee Chairman and other long time members of the BRTC are very proud of you.

      1. Joe McLaine, you keep on making cheap shots about racism on YOUR Republican Town Committee and without any substantiation as well. Go take care of YOUR BPT Republican Town Committee before you go make ceap shots. BTW,it seems you have been rewarded with appointments to a City of Bridgeport Board.

        1. Frank Gyure, It is not ” My Town Committee”. I am not a member. I would not be a member of an organization that I have determined is racist. I have absolute proof of racist behavior by Chairman Garrett and others. If you would like to investigate this matter ask Republican State Central Chairman JR Romano for copies of complaints that were previously filed. And also do some research on Carl Higbie. A known racist that was booked by Garrett and others to speak at the 2018 Bridgeport Republican Lincoln Day Dinner. I do not believe all Bridgeport Republicans are racist ,but it certainly appears that those leading the Town Committee are.

          1. J.R Romano is hopeless. He has been on a losing streak and he is doubling down on his Trump mania.

  2. Let me first say that I am proud of our Bridgeport’s Delegation. We have members in great Leadership positions which will give us a greater voice in hartford. Sen. Bradley’s Speech set a tone in the senate that Bridgeport will not be forgotten. I plan on working with our new senator as a former senator and former chair of public safety and former Deputy president -Pro-Tempo of the Senate we all should work with our delegation. Now i do recognize from reading many comments on OIB we will never get everyone to work together.

  4. Ernie,

Back up, let me take care of Maria. Maria, how dare you call someone a criminal! You need to learn how to control your temper. You don’t even know how to conduct yourself. Go and sit in time out for a while and think about your words and actions. Ernie, is man of integrity. The system unfairly targeted him. You know the story! Whereas with you, you are just a vigilantly!

  5. Ms. Thompson,

You really needs to stop giving orders because no one on OIB reports to you. Ernie Newton is a man of “integrity.” What a fascinating perspective. You are aware Ernie Newton plead guilty to a variety of charges when he was the State Senator for the 23rd District???
There is no such word as “vigilantly.” You may have meant “vigilante.” Not to worry, folks. I have been able to confirm that Stephanie Thompson is not a BPS teacher. That gives me a great sense of relief.

Why do people keep sending me screenshots and links about Dennis Bradley? LOL!

I just watched a Facebook video of him making his first speech on the Senate floor. It was over the top. He made a point of thanking the following people in this order:

Ernest Newton- Former State Senator of the 23rd District who plead guilty to felony offenses involving betraying the people’s trust and was sentenced to severali years in prison.

Mayor Ganim – Former and current Mayor who was found guilty of committing 16 felony offenses involving betraying the people’s trust and was sentenced to 9 years in federal prison.

Dr. Ralph Ford- Former state employee who was terminated and agreed to pay a $20,000 fine regarding running his private practice utilizing a state office, state employees and state equipment.

Lidia Martinez – Former state rep., former City Councilwoman and current City Clerk who has been repeatedly investigated for violating the laws regarding absentee ballots and found guilty of committing AB violations on two separate occasions which caused repeated monetary penalties to be assessed by the SEEC.

These are the four people Dennis Bradley chose to thank and praise during his very first speech on the Senate floor.

I don’t know that anything else needs to be said.

    2. Ernie, I’m not on Facebook so that’s why I asked that question. The reason that I asked about who were Dennis Bradley’s mentors because I didn’t know and I wanted to know what has Dennis Bradley done? The only thing that I’m aware of he ran with Maria for the BOE and he got elected and then his main issue was to head a boycott against Maria until she stepped down from the BOE, well that didn’t happen. So what has Dennis Bradley learned from his mentors?

In all due respect WHAT has any of the Board members done but fight one another. Maria want to act like she is a saint. You know like i know maria is like a cancer so Ron you should be asking that question not only to Sen. Bradley but to the whole board of Education. As long as she’s on the Board nothing will ever get done. She has alienated every member on the City Council who has to provide funding for the board of Education. Ron you have to admit over the last 20 years we have had a dysfunctional Board. Lead by yours truly Maria Pereira. If you don’t do what she saids she will turn on you. Almost like President 45′

        1. Ernie, a boycott of taking not taking care of the 21,000 children in our school system is just like President 45’s shut down of 800,000 federal workers. What makes it worse was Mayor Ganim lack of leadership by just being silent.

          0
          1. Ron i’m through you can only see what you want to see. Maria like i said is like cancer. You may not Like Sen. Bradley but to give Maria a pass on her behavior is sad because what has she done. Like i said she will turn on you if you disagree with her. Judge Lopez be very careful just like she turned on Joe she will do the same to YOU!

Dennis Bradley recognized the following individuals in the following order:
            – Ernest Newton
            – Mayor Joe Ganim
            – Dr. Ralph Ford
            – Lydia Martinez
Ernie, as said earlier, I’m not on Facebook so I didn’t know what she said until you made the post. I didn’t take sides. Maria and I have had our issues and disagreements, I know she a hard worker who will put in time to research stuff. As for Dennis Bradley, I don’t dislike him, I’ve never met him and I’ve only met Maria once when she first ran for the BOE. Ernie maybe you can tell me something positive that Dennis Bradley has done while he was on the BOE?

  7. Maria,

I am your boss. You report to me because I have kids in the public school system, and I am a teacher. I am glad to be employed in another district. You work for the students and their parents. So, yes, you work for me, and you will answer to me and other parents. Thank you. Regarding Ernie, it was a set up. Setups do happen in our legal system. Sometimes people have to accept a plea-deal, not because they did anything wrong, but because the way the system is set up, to not do so, will result in an even harsher sentence. You should know about the system. Didn’t you get arrested for resisting arrest. You are not a law abiding citizen. By definition, you are a “criminal.” You do not live in a glass house, so don’t try to throw stones. We all have a yesterday and a tomorrow. Be careful Maria how you talk about people.

  8. Ms. Thompson,

You are not my “boss.” Just as I am not Dr. Johnson’s “boss.” Once again, I work on behalf of our public school students, parents, staff, taxpayers and voters. I do not work for them and am not their employee. Please remember school board members are not compensated for their service.

I have NEVER been arrested for “resisting arrest.” Make sure your posts regarding arrests or convictions are accurate.

  9. Dennis Bradley has been such a “hot mess” in his previous public offices . A a member of The Bridgeport Board of Education,(and at that time,Chair of the BBOE)he was solely responsible for the completely irresponsible strategy of a “boycott” of BOE meetings. He lost out on that. As reported here,Dennis Bradley’s poor attendance and irresponsibilty towards his position on The BOE has already shown that he cares little about the Bridgeport Community. Let’s remember,Dennis Bradley was elected chair of The BOE due to the machinations of DTC chair Mario Testa and Testa made an extremely rare appearence at the BOE meeting where Bradley was made chair. As Chair of the BOE,Bradley was a disaster. Let’s put all this stuff behind us and see what Bradley does as a State Senator. His attendance standards are below par. Let’s see how has worst attendance. Dennis Bradley or Charles Stallingworth. Both will be facing the People of Bridgeport in two years and time just flies.

  10. Let’s first of all get Dennis Bradley to resign from the Bridgeport Board of Education.
At least we can determine if he is serious about serving only one elected position and also he will not use one against the other to explain why he is AWOL from both.

  11. Who is this Stephanie Thompson? Is she indeed Black, a woman, a Bridgeport resident, a teacher or just a regular internet troll? No offense Bobby.

She hasn’t left a footprint in the Black community because NO ONE I’ve talked to have ever heard of her. No One! I say this to say, why are ya’ll responding to a ghost.

    1. Don, Re. Gaston could be the answer because she was schedule to have a meeting him so maybe he will post something. Wait a minute, that meeting was cancel but maybe it got reschedule:

  12. Maria,

You should be ashamed of yourself. All you do is stand in the way of progress. Why won’t you do us all a favor and step down. You are a sheer embarrassment to the entire education system here. All you know how to do is name call. You don’t like anyone outside of yourself.

Donald Day, who are you to question who I am? People only know you to be a shit starter. That is what you are known by. With a city of thousands of people, you profess to know everybody. There are people who know me that don’t know nothing about you; besides you starting and stirring the pot. How arrogant of you to think you should KNOW everybody. Do not speak for the Black community because all you have done on this site was beat down other black people who are trying to do something productive in this town. What? they have to come through YOU, DONALD? Stop acting like your namesake the Commander-in-chief, Donald!

    0
    1. Did you have the audacity to keep calling me names like “lethal liar” and Donald Day a “shot starter” while calling others names while attempting to chastise me for name calling?

Do you understand the definition of hypocrisy?

I really do believe that there is something wrong with you.

Donald Day is on point. I can’t find a single person who knows you either. I am believing more and more that you are a plant. I think Stephanie Thompson should be ghosted.

  13. As I look back on Black history in America, I see a myriad of proud Black folks and organizations that were shit starters. Frederick Douglass was a shit starter. Rosa Parks was a shit starter. Malcolm X & MLK were shit starters. NAACP was shit starters. SNCC was shit starters. Muhammad Ali was a shit starter. While I am not comparing myself to any of these individuals or organizations, I do wear that shit starter label like a badge of courage. Thank you.

    1. “Agitate! Agitate! Agitate!” is a quote from activist Frederick Douglass who was one of the greatest public speakers in American history, so it’s only fitting that the new exhibit in his honor at the American Writers Museum (AWM) is entitled Frederick Douglass AGITATOR. Frederick Douglass escaped from slavery to become one of the most eloquent voices of abolitionism and his words remain a touchstone for anyone fighting inequality or pushing America to fulfill its promise of ensuring equality for all.

Dennis Bradley. With your new responsibilities as a State Senator,I call upon upon you to resign from The Bridgeport Board If Education. It is obvious that, along with your main employment as an attorney, you will be pushed to the limits as to how you can spend your time to the most value of your constituents. Please resign your seat on the BPT Board of Education and let’s move forward Thank you.
