Seems the city isn’t the only one that can’t keep track of money. From Brian Lockhart, CT Post:
Where’s the money?
McCarthy was concerned when told Keeley could not account for the city’s full $980,000 purchase payment to Orcutt.
“It’s important they figure out what happened to the money,” he said.
Richard Saxl, the attorney who represented Orcutt at the time, confirmed this week that the money was received by him in 2014 and–minus his fee–forwarded to the club.
“The city did what it was supposed to,” Saxl said.
But Charlie Coviello, a new Orcutt board member and Keeley ally, said, “There was no paper trail.”
Bruno said he received an unspecified amount of back pay after forgoing a salary for a lengthy period of time.
He also said some of the $980,000 was used to pay off Orcutt’s fiscal obligations and for the day-to-day running of the club.

It sounds like this money just went the way many things go and that’s in someone’s pocket. Do we have a bill that details Mr. Bruno’s work hours? Do we have a cancelled check? Who can write checks for Orcutt? Where is the deposit slip for this so-called $1,000,000. This stinks to high heaven.
Between Keeley, Bruno and McCarthy, what did you expect?
Keeley is now in charge, he should know where the money is. He should have access to pay stubs and receipts. Keeley should know who authorized Bruno to get paid. If there was no one who authorized payment to Bruno then contact the police. The same holds true for all the money including the lawyer’s payment. Where is his bill?
These clowns haven’t been able to account for their funds for two decades. Twenty years ago the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America disowned them and the United Way stopped funding the clubs when these two and their Board were unable or unwilling to show where the money went.
