From Steve Krauchick, Doing It Local.
Jasmine, a registered nurse who was on Grand Street to check on a patient spotted a fire at 650/652 Grand Street on the second floor. She began knocking on doors getting everyone out of the building. One man was attempting to put the fire out with a pan, she convinced the man to leave the building and leave the fire to the firefighters. Before she knew it, Jasmine had someone’s baby in her arms which was quickly reunited with the mother. The residents attribute firefighters quick response in preventing the fire from spreading and quickly putting the fire out.
