A vote for McCarthy is a vote for a selfish, self-serving, greedy politician who is always looking for more. Joe Ganim told him enough was enough.
After making over $1,000,000 off the city of Bridgeport and in salary, stipends, benefits and perks and serving as a council member, Council President, DTC member, DTC District Leader, member of both the Airport Commission and City Hall Committee, Joe Ganim said enough.
And what was McCarthy’s response? Not yet, I need more. Pay me severance. Give me more medical. And after all that he believes he is owed even MORE. Now he wants to be State Senator while not resigning from the council and not the Council President.
Joe Ganim said it and now the voters must. Enough already, enough is enough.
This is Bridgeport. If you’ve ever been involved with City politics, you would know too much ain’t enough!
Gee, McCarthy sounds aggressive. Maybe that’s just what we need in Hartford. I do not think Ganim told him enough. I think Ganim said Moore, Moore, Moore, More McCarthy, because sometimes you just can’t get enough. 🙂 Has Moore been asking town committee members to support her? Maybe.
Putting words in peoples’ mouths, are we? That never goes over well.
Bubba, this is another Finch scenario, put McCarthy in Hartford, and if Joe for some reason or another doesn’t run again, Mac waits to be beckoned back to run for Mayor. And don’t anyone kid yourselves, this has been orchestrated from the top on down.
I wonder if a smile came across Mac the Knife’s face, after seeing this OIB straw poll.
And Bob,
The proposed City budget continues to list a City Clerk employee with the title Legislative Liaison, and the compensation has increased from $42799 to $47,704. Pray tell what is a Legislative Liaison, locked to a desk in the City Clerk office, apparently not well acquainted with the Legislative office in the other City Hall, do for Council members at this time? Deserving of a 12% increase? With whom does he liaison if not the City Council? Does he maintain contact with Tom McCarthy who moved him into this position four years ago as part of his hypocritical “budget savings” exercise? Time will tell.
Moore, Moore, Moore! How do you like it?

*** THE IRISH LAD WITH THE POLITICAL SILVER SPOON IN HIS MOUTH WHO’S ALWAYS THOUGHT OF HIMSELF AND HIS FUTURE FIRST; THUS LEAVING HIS VOTER DISTRICT FOR LAST! I THINK BPT’S HAD ENOUGH OF TOM MCCARTHY AND HIS RUBBER STAMPING TO LET HIM GET HIS WAY AGAIN IN LOCAL POLITICS, NO? *** MS. MOORE DESERVES MORE THAN JUST A FEW FILL-IN MONTHS AS OUR STATE SENATOR; WHO BY THE WAY HAS STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE AND DELIVERED DURING THE SHORT TIME SHE’S BEEN SENATOR. *** VOTE MS. MOORE FOR STATE SENATE! ***
In a strong but quiet voice, The Wise Man spoke to me and said: “make Only in Bridgeport part of your daily routine and watch your fortunes rise.” It was then he looked to the cloudy sky and said: “Ms. Moore is fine but Tom McCarthy is better.” That’s when the sun broke out and children began handing out flowers.
Nah. Not even remotely close to accurate. Finch is gone. Have you heard that little morsel of info yet?
Paul, is that when you stop taking Quaaludes but the delirium continues?
