OIB Poll: Finch, Ganim, Foster Or Torres? Someone Else?

It’s the holidays, time to celebrate. That means we raise a glass to voter power because OIB readers vote. Here’s an unscientific hypothetical poll because we cannot screen for demographics, but what the heck, let’s do this anyway. Do not despair, we will feature a variety of unscientific survey matchups (and perhaps scientific) in the coming months as we segue into the 2015 municipal cycle for mayor. Just pretend this is a general election and everyone can vote once. All readers may participate.

If the election for Bridgeport mayor were being held today and the candidates were Bill Finch, Joe Ganim, Mary-Jane Foster and Enrique Torres, for whom would you vote?

  • Mary-Jane Foster (32%, 55 Votes)
  • Joe Ganim (30%, 52 Votes)
  • Bill Finch (17%, 29 Votes)
  • Enrique Torres (11%, 19 Votes)
  • Someone else (9%, 16 Votes)

Total Voters: 171

  1. Revenue projections for Steel Point are 20 years out. Mary-Jane Foster, Joe Ganim and Enrique Torres would never wait that long to recoup this City’s investment.

Bill Finch should have taken his plan for Steel Point first to the TV show Shark Tank, for that reason I voted him OUT!

  2. Lennie,
Maybe you can explain to me how three Democrats, one Republican and others are running in the election all at the same time.
I realize the Democrats could petition their way on but your survey lacks serious credibility.
The three identified Democrats have 82% of the vote while the only Republican is polling 10%.

    1. Troll, get a sense of humor and slice some cheese to go with that whine. I explained clearly this is an unscientific poll. I try to present survey topics that can include all readers, not just certain segments, to entertain and generate interest. I dare say in a scientific professional poll Bill Finch, based on a number of factors, would be in the lead. He led all surveyed challengers in John Fabrizi’s poll. By the way, what percentage would you expect Torres to poll?

    1. George Estrada would be a Republican who I would think could change the perception of the Republican party. I always thought George would make a fine, respectful leader in Bridgeport.

    1. Bob Walsh,
I support Lennie attempting to get more writers into the pool. To that point, assuming there are likely no more than ten different writers most days, yet nearly 120 people have voted (and I assume voting “early and often” is not possible on this site), the idea of getting some sense of what the ‘reading’ non-posting audience is thinking is interesting and valuable.

Perhaps someone will next accuse Lennie of “poll dancing?” In that spirit the Fiji Mermaid will have a most difficult time receiving the gratitude of this audience. By the way, when will the Barnum Museum reopen? Before the election? Time will tell.
