Lennie, you’re sucking the Democratic Party for all the $ you can get. Good for you!
On a very important note, we’re living in dangerous times. If anyone knows of any potential threat to the President of the United States of America, do report it immediately. If you see something, say something. Here is the number to call:
US Secret Service, CONNECTICUT •NEW HAVEN
203-865-2449
STOP! Before you vote, read this:
gov.cbia.com/issues_policies/article/details-of-new-state-budget
As we know, voting no doesn’t mean one is not voting for Malloy because the question is about the ad and most people do not need an ad so they will vote NO.
Joel,
This isn’t yesterday’s news, it’s news from three years ago!!!
Shouldn’t you be out campaigning instead of wasting your time on this silliness?
Let’s see:
The state’s income tax has a new top rate of 6.7% that would begin at lower income thresholds ($500,000 for joint filers). That’s still way over my W-9. NEXT.
Joint filers with incomes exceeding $700,000, lower marginal rates will not apply and taxpayers will pay the higher rate from dollar one. Again, let me check my W-9. Nope, not me. NEXT.
What’s more, the current top rate of 6.5% will trigger at $400,000. Nope. NEXT.
Reduce the estate tax exemption from $3.5 million to $2 million. Just made it. NEXT.
Create a 7% luxury tax, starting with the first dollar (on clothing costing more than $1,000, jewelry above $5,000, cars above $50,000 and boats above $100,000). Call me cheap but I am not concerned about this.
So no wonder Foley is pissed. But I’m sure he will hire attorneys and CPAs to tell him how to avoid this.
He’ll probably claim he made no money at all for a couple years.
Lennie,
Your poll question is flawed. If I plan on voting for Malloy regardless of whether the president comes into town, how am I supposed to vote?
Also, isn’t the purpose of the president coming supposed to be driving people to the polls? If I plan on voting for Malloy but don’t know if I should bother, how do I respond to your poll?
Troll, you can vote any way you want. If the president doesn’t influence your vote for Malloy, you vote no. Do not despair Troll, we’ll have plenty of upcoming OIB polls to vote on head-to-head matchups.
So although 70% of your respondents say Obama’s visit will not make them more likely to vote for Malloy, Malloy may still get 100% of that 70%.
Yes, could happen.
Lennie, do you think Foley can break 20% in the city? A Republican running statewide has not broken 20% of the vote in the city in years!!!
Yes.
Okay, hopefully he will.
donj, you are just what the Republican Party needs, a young black man who hates Democrats, please join so they can use you.
Ron, you are telling donj to join the Republicans so they can abuse him. Why aren’t you saying that about the Democrats, they have been promising the poor their lot would improve by voting Democrat. Has it? NO, it hasn’t. If anyone has been abused, it’s the blacks by the Democrats.
Andy Fardy, I didn’t say that at all, The Republican Party is having a very hard time attracting young black men into their Party. donj hates Democrats, so why not join a Party that will accept you and your views? Once again, I never said the Republican Party would abuse him or anyone else. In fact, donj could tell us all how good the Republican Party is. Time will tell.
Ron, your response to donj was cleverly worded. It’s like the question have you stopped beating your wife. Semantics.
Andrew C Fardy, I understand where you are coming from, but I’m really serious about donj. I don’t know him but according to what I read on OIB, he is in school and he likes to get involved, he likes to give input about his views on issues and he doesn’t like Democrats. I have mentioned a number of times the Republican Party needs to do an outreach to blacks. I always voted for Chris Shays until he started being a hawk about wars and voting like Tea Party members. On the local level here in Bridgeport, the Republicans should seek out people like donj.
How many times have Jennifer B, Dave Walker, JML, Bob and Joel voted today?
Hey Bob, Surprise it’s Bridgeport. I have voted at least as many times as you.
As the 1920s mayor of Chicago once said, “Vote early and vote often.”
Well, hell. That ain’t that many times. I’m home. Home PC. Maybe I can vote again.
