Fabs Wants Reval Numbers

State-mandated revaluation has been delayed by the state for two years at the request of Mayor Bill Finch, but former Mayor John Fabrizi wants to take a look at the assessment number on his house in the North End had the program been implemented. From Brian Lockhart, CT Post:

Finch’s predecessor, ex-Mayor John Fabrizi, however, wants a peek at it.

Fabrizi in a letter to the Tax Assessor has requested, under the state’s Freedom of Information Act, all 2013 revaluation data related to his private home at 120 Doreen Drive.

“I understand the argument of not releasing the figures (and) scaring people who currently live here or have a business here, or those who are thinking of doing so,” Fabrizi said.

  1. Here is another slap at Bridgeport residents by the all-knowing Susan Branelly. “‘It’s like handing somebody Greek when they should have been given English,’ said Councilwoman Susan Brannelly, D-130, a chairman of the Council’s Budget and Appropriations Committee. “It has not been translated, and that’s a major undertaking.'”

Susan, you are full of it. The job for the most part is done. The city has paid $300K to date leaving just $80K. That $80K was to cover costs of residents’ appeals and things like that.
Susan, what has not been done is all you Finch clones are not on the same page.

    1. We should, at the very least, have in writing how extraordinarily bad Bill Finch has been as mayor. Raise taxes, do nothing, hire friends and sycophants and screw everybody else. Go Johnny Fabs–someone needed to do it and I’m glad you did. Still not voting for you though.

  2. I’m sure Susan would be surprised to hear there are more than a few Bridgeport residents who speak Greek, and even more who understand simple arithmetic. I would be happy just getting the raw data for my home. After all, we’ve paid for it.

  3. Anastasi is working feverishly, trying to come up with an excuse why the reval numbers are “illegal” to give out to residents now. This should be good.

  4. Hi Sue! Guess what? There are a couple of folks who have Finance, Economics and Accounting degrees instead of Nursing degrees who live in Bridgeport.

If you please, can we get a looky look? I know your Nursing background makes you vastly more qualified to translate the budget than we lowly business people, but hey, why not roll the dice?

And if I may be so bold, there are NON-degreed folks who live here that can think their way out of a business paper bag and do a fine job of interpreting the numbers as well. Go figure.

    Thanks John Fabrizi.
