Former Republican State Senator Rob Russo’s getting ribbed for The New York Times Magazine article last week that named him “One of the people that do all the work” in Hillary Clinton’s political operation for president. Russo’s wife Carolyn, a Hillary supporter, was pleased hubby was among the names featured in Hillary’s political planet that included Democratic powerhouses Lady Gaga and film producer Harvey Weinstein. Then Rob had to break the news, The Times named the wrong Rob Russo.
“The story is a giant load of shit,” Russo told OIB with a laugh on Monday. He has exchanged LinkedIn pleasantries with the real Rob Russo-Hillary operative. When Russo ran for state senate in 2006 The Times endorsed him in his loss to incumbent Democrat Bill Finch, now Bridgeport mayor. In trying to match images with names The Times grabbed the wrong photo file for the story.
The Times Sunday Magazine story proclaims:
The gravitational pull of a possible 2016 campaign is bringing all the old Clinton characters into her orbit. Can she make the stars align, or will chaos prevail?
These days Bridgeport resident Rob Russo is busy practicing law and supporting Republican candidate for governor John McKinney. But Rob, what about Hillary? “This is one Rob Russo who won’t be voting for Hillary in 2016.”

Rob Russo, you’ve been outed. I always believed you were a closet liberal Democrat. Now the “All The News That’s Fit To Print” New York Times proves it true.
Welcome to my world, Rob!!!
