Check out CT Post reporter Keila Torres Ocasio’s profile about controversial Board of Education President Ken Moales:
… Moments after Moales was elected chairman of the board in March, Sauda Baraka, made a motion to censure him. As Moales’ wife, Ena, and children looked on, Baraka read from meeting’s minutes in which Moales told board member Maria Pereira she was acting like “you’re on Ritalin or you’re special ed.”
Moales, meanwhile, yelled over her and rushed to end the meeting. Afterwards, he walked up to Baraka and said, “I assure you, you will regret doing that in front of my wife and kids.”
Pereira, in an email, said the real blame for his actions lies with those who allow him to act that way.
“Everyone knows what Mr. Moales is, and how he behaves in public,” Pereira said. “I need not comment on that. We should not blame Moales for acting in character and for being Moales. The real blame lies with those who enable him and make it possible for him to exercise dominion and control over our school system.

Didn’t! You know “millionaires” can act that way. They be impotent in a smart, decent played-on community. I wonder if he can occupy his soul and heart, before he runs away both, when he can’t.
Maybe the Rev. would feel differently if he actually paid taxes on his own Church and residence. To actually “feel” the pain of the people he preaches to.
*** it will be interesting after the Nov. elections, to see if Rev. Moales continues to be the BOE president, no? ***
Not a chance if Dem slate and WFP run the table.
As my friends from ‘staven like to say, “He thinks who he is.”
Surely Mayor Finch is totally aware this was only one, but a very important reason he had lost control of the BOE. Why Moales is still there? Only G-d knows.
Moales definitely has a boorish personality. He does not seem to handle himself well in confrontations. And he acts like a bully too much for me.
HOWEVER–the last person who should be making remarks about how he “is” is Ms. Pereira. For those who know her–especially before she re-invented herself as a politician–know when it comes to behavior the adage “people who live in glass houses should not throw stones” applies here.
