Can we assume that REAPPOINTMENT of Board and Commission members evaluates their activity towards the purpose of their Board and Commission? What is that formal process? Does Miscellaneous Matters have a guide that would include signing annually with the Town Clerk in January each year as an ELECTED or APPOINTED city official.
But as of July 29, 2026 five City Council members were delinquient in that duty though they received reminders. Also, seven Board of Education members are guilty of failure to follow the City Ordinance as to report to the Town Clerk.
Finally, only the Library Board has followed through by signing into the Town Clerk Register. Where are the other Board and Commission members reminded of the Ordinance by the administration? The Ordinance was created by the Council more than five years ago because of City experience with people who lived and voted in towns outside of Bridgeport yet were placed on Boards and Commissions that were inefficient if not corrupt in allwing the process. Who does oversight and what enforcement items are in order? Time will tell.
Worthy, 🙂
It’s probably fair to say, in this “disingenuous” game, that players on “competing” sides can agree on.
Show me the money? 🤣

How it all works may be “chaos”, John? To say the least. Perhaps the willingness and ability to “take a pitch” for the team, depending on how “corrupt, unjust” they are willing to give. To be fair, you’re “able” to take/resist participating in corrupt, unjust, evil acts on your fellow “Homo sapiens” in the name of the game. 🤣

Thought it may get even or “chaotic,” John? When your position is viewed as an elected official. Similar to a student running for class president campaigning for a free lunch. Though perhaps for today’s Homo sapiens, student body, free wifi access, and a safe place to access my social account. 🤣

Wouldn’t you say, elected official, Mamdani?🤣

Regardless of how much you lie for them, they probably lie to you.

P.S. Have either of you attended one of John’s Casual Civics Conversations? 🙂

RT,
There were two Porch conversations in parts of the 130th which includes part of the West End and Black Rock. Good conversations focused on “the study of citizen rights and duties” otherwise termed CIVICS in the municipality of Bridgeport.
Another location becomes available at Squashbridge on Main St Bridgeport, included in the 136th District for the first time. 6:00 PM is the time. One hour where you can listen to City neighbors make comments, ask questions, or speak about subjects closer to your heart, mind, and family. No cost. Freindly. No agenda or minutes. The folks who gather generally are not shy. Makes for an interesting gathering where learning, face-to-face, can occur naturally. Later, research, and fact checking will follow likely.
My goal is to assist others to increase the voting from those currently registered but who fail to vote as informed citizens, who know about the issues, the City of Bridgeport salary schedules which the Council will review tonight, and perhaps why housing is a neglected subject by the current administration. Time will tell.
Squashbridge is located at 1691 Main Street. TUESDAY, 6 PM for one hour courtesy of Simba, Yasmyn and others who support the study of and familiarity with CIVICS by neighbors. TIME WILL TELL.
John, I believe I attended a Casual Civics Conversation. I asked questions; I received somewhat ambiguous answers. 🙂
You speak of your goal as to “assist others to increase the voting from those currently registered but who fail to vote as informed citizens…”
I am a registered voter. While I don’t really care who we the probate judgeship, do you have to have a horse in every race?
In Port politics, I had a horse in the game, and we know how that went when needing a “ride.” But make no mistake in this disingenuous game. Without divine intervention, well. been down, seen that road a few times.

So I have to ask myself, is it the horse or the game? It is more than fair to say it is the game, looking at Port’s strange-ass political bedfellows. 🙂
So is anyone on those porches or anyone attending your CCC tour having a seat at the table playing in the Port political sandbox any different when beholden to the game? Not to mention the Judas. 🙂
BTW, that Splashbridge location seems familiar? I think it was an Asian Massage Parlor. Good Times, people. 🤣
# Divine intervention. 🙂

PS John, while we both know by now, OIB is my best ESL Class ever. It is more than fair to say that, while I wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer as a student. I never cheated on a test. Don’t get me wrong, I failed many and only passed with the teacher grading on a curve, to say the least. But I never cheated on a test. 🤣
Since this is Port politics, I don’t want to break traditions. Just tell me who to vote for. 🤣
Be my? Click on the link for the answer. 🙂
