WARNING:
A while ago, a new car wash establishment opened on Fairfield Avenue and Pine Street. Just like on this occasion, this car wash offered a free car wash during their grand opening.
In order to get the free car wash, they required my credit/debit card. I asked why if it’s free. The cashier explained that it was for mailing/promotional purposes and that only 1 cent would be charged. Why can’t I just give you my contact information and I pay you a nickel? The guy himself knew this was kind of wishy-washe. I went along and made it clear the I was going to keep an eye out for this transaction.
I did check for a short while. A little over 8 months or so, I checked my bank statement and noticed a $37 charge for car wash service at this place and it occurred to me that I had previously seen another charge before. I nor my wife had not taken any vehicles to the car wash in over 15 years. I reported this to the bank and had to get another card sent to me. I found 3 charges at least and was credited for 1 by the bank.
As we say, “Lo barato sale caro”. I hope Lennie isn’t in on this. You have been warned and alerted 📢 LOUD AND CLEAR.
