High Winds Knock Over Utility Pole At Warnaco Demo Site In South End

From Mayor Joe Ganim’s Facebook page:

Due to high winds a portion of a wall at the Warnaco building demolition site was impacted and came down into the street, knocking over a utility pole. There were no injuries and no harm to any individuals.
At this time, first responders, building officials, and demolition crews are on site securing the area and clearing debris so United Illuminating can safely begin restoring power as quickly as possible.
For everyone’s safety, the street is currently closed at Gregory and Warren Streets, and residents are asked to avoid the area, as conditions remain dangerous for pedestrians.
We appreciate the swift response from all crews involved and thank residents for their patience and cooperation as work continues.
