Mayor Joe Ganim joined state and city leaders today at the historic Remington Arms site on Barnum Avenue to mark a major milestone in the property’s long-awaited transformation. The site, once home to the iconic shot tower, has now been fully cleared thanks to nearly $20 million in state funding and $5 million in city support—laying the groundwork for one of Bridgeport’s most significant redevelopment opportunities.
Mayor Ganim emphasized the partnership between the city, state, and local community that made the cleanup possible, noting that the cleared acreage presents “one of the most desirable and exciting redevelopment parcels not just in Bridgeport, but anywhere.” City Council President Aidee Nieves highlighted that the process began years ago with local efforts to secure the property and initiate environmental remediation. She said the focus now shifts toward ensuring the site becomes a hub for job creation and housing that benefits East Side residents.
State Representative Chris Rosario, who grew up just blocks away, called the project a “renaissance for the East Side,” underscoring the importance of continued state investment in Brownfield remediation and affordable housing. With the Request for Proposals (RFP) now open, the city is inviting developers to submit plans that balance historic preservation with forward-looking uses that create jobs, housing, and new community spaces at the former Remington Arms site.

For Better or Worse, based on the concept that reaches Beyond political parties and the two white groups AKA white liberals and white conservatives this is a political ploy without a doubt. In my opinion.
That being said, can be done as an alternative has to be negotiated between the state and the federal government and that is a to end the exploitation of workers in America be it immigrants undocumented. Well everyone agrees the illegal illicit criminal activities can be deported without question the undocumented immigrant workers who were let through the back door by this government should only be rounded up at work and not deported but hand it over to the state where the state grants them with the authority of the federal government for work status. Because clearly jobs affect the economy that need to be filled and they’re the ones who are feeling it just on an exploitation basis.
So they go back to work with the rights that many unions and this country fought for for the working class are afforded to them until a comprehensive immigration policy adhere to the United States is implemented and where the rhetoric words to keep the exploitation going by saying they should not be granted citizenship because they broke the law in disingenuous to say the least because they didn’t come through the front door but you let them in through the back door they shouldn’t be punished for this government’s actions and treachery and disingenuousness
