In four weeks State Senator-elect Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox will formally take her seat for the start of the General Assembly’s 2025 legislative session that will last into June.
One of her appointments is chair of the newly formed Regulation Review Committee which is a structural work in progress for its oversight powers.
Gadkar-Wilcox, a law professor at Quinnipiac, won a decisive Democratic primary in a large field last August on her way to a general election victory to replace the retiring Marilyn Moore in the city-suburban 22nd District.
Statement from Gadkar-Wilcox
This past weekend, Senate President Martin Looney and Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff released our committee chair and vice chair assignments for the 2025-2026 legislative sessions.
I am honored to be serving in the 2025 legislative sessions as chair of the new Government Oversight Committee, chair of Regulations Review, and chair of a Select Committee on Special Education. Along with these, I will be serving as vice chair of the Judiciary Committee and Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee.
All of these committees are incredibly important to me, and I am so excited to assume a leadership role in them. Thank you to our Senate leadership for trusting me in these important roles. I look forward to contributing to important work and legislation once session begins on January 8th.
