Porter Introduces Assistant Chief John Cueto

Had time to listen to introduction of John Cueto, a former Bridgeport officer for 28 years, who then worked as a chief in North Carolina for 5 years with a variety of experiences, training, and belief in Bridgeport’s future.
He and Chief Porter are to be respected for installing supervisory rigor into department relationships with evaluataions that reinforce the needs and standards of the Department. But they also seem to have increased unit pride, effectiveness, and a vision of a healthy future for employees where leadership development opportunities are discussed and encouraged.
Assistant Chief Cueto will likely advance the considerations of effectiveness and efficiency in his administrative duties where he has provided the notion that retention of well trained officers, physically able to do the job, with human and material support as backup can not only serve the public, but be good ambassadors to the always observant community. The conversation showed where the current focus on well trained and experienced leaders play a critical role in public safety and property security for the City. Ongoing example of: Time will tell.
