Saying it will take time to rebuild trust, Superintendent of Schools Carmela Levy-David issued an apology on the eve of members of the Bridgeport Education Association conducting a rally outside City Hall to air grievances over lack of classroom resources such as desks, computers and textbooks, as well understaffing and overcrowded classrooms, to start the school year.
“Over the past few months, I recognize that my actions and decisions may have caused frustration, concern and uncertainty among many of you,” she said during Monday’s remote school board meeting. “For that, I sincerely apologize.”
