Town officials have cited the owners, including Lamont, for failing to obtain the proper permits before cutting the trees.
“I think at the end of the day, I’m responsible and the (neighborhood association) is,” Lamont told reporters following an unrelated event on Monday at Bridgeport Hospital. “They hired a contractor to do the work, and I think the contractor went beyond the scope a little bit.”
