After Court-Authorized Review 14 among 2,000 Absentee Ballots Cast Not Counted On Primary Night

Update: Judge Clark grants request to count the 14 absentee votes.

A review of the court-authorized unsealing of roughly 2,000 absentee ballots counted in last week’s Democratic mayoral primary redo produced 14 ballots not tabulated, according to a motion filed with the court on Wednesday by John Kennelly, an attorney representing the city.

A state election monitor was on hand during the review process.

The human-error uncounted ballots apparently are in the Blackham 134 North End district precinct, among the lowest in the city for absentee voting. According to initial absentee ballot election results, Mayor Joe Ganim had five absentee votes there to zero for opponent John Gomes.

The request to unseal the ballots was made by losing candidate John Gomes’ attorney William Bloss.

The motion before Judge William Clark requests the ballots in question be counted to update the certified primary vote won by Mayor Joe Ganim by more than 1,000 votes.

  1. To misplaced 14 absentee ballots, every absentee Ballot should be tossed out or until a (Legislative Audit Bureau) reviews every Bridgeport absentee Ballot.
It’s time for this state to take total control of our elections here in Bridgeport.

Why Vote, if you’re constantly being cheated!

    1. Hello, election monitors appointed by the state supervised this election. Human error happens just like an electrician wiring a house that a building inspector rectifies. A safety net was placed by the judge for this reason.

        1. I dare you, the state or the federal government try infringing any further on my right to vote. It’s bad enough Judge William Clark is acting as Judge, jury and executioner with little regards to the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. If you clowns don’t value your or the rights afforded to others, then I guess we must be willing to go back to fighting in a revolution. Picture me bombing Black Rock from the Sound.

          1. Joel,
Since you mention the Constitution’s First and Fourteenth Amendments. Is General Election process in the City of Bridgeport in recent years, with an “experienced” Mayor with legal training, a “minority majority” in population and presumably registered voters turns out no more than 20%. Is that a healthy result for leadership? I suggest that it is not.
You finish your ‘thoughtful comment above’ suggesting a revolution that is violent. Why bomb Black Rock? Who is your enemy as you support without conditions the status quo? And why do you suggest violence?
Who are the “clowns” in this case? Are they your fellow citizens who feel ignored between elections, who do not hear truthful and trustworty information about City progress and process, and who are not invited and encouraged to completely fill all empty positions on every Board and Commission, with their work process easily available to the public by website presentation? As Chief Porter has commented for the past year “effective communication” that includes in-person presentations, Q&A sessions, and results from working Boards and Commissions is critical. Why is Ganim2 slow to attend to this form of communication? Time will tell.

        2. JML=JUST MORE LIES.

“…thoughtful comment above’ suggesting a revolution that is violent. Why bomb Black Rock? Who is your enemy as you support without conditions the status quo?”

          Here’s what I wrote:

“If you clowns don’t value your or the rights afforded to others, then I guess we must be willing to go back to fighting in a revolution. Picture me bombing Black Rock from the Sound.”

Yes, you’re the main OIB poster/reader I had in mind when I picked “clown” as a gentle word.
You’re too obsessed in formulating the same dumb questions while remaining oblivious to the deep division in this country. February 6, Part 2. Should serve as a warning of the road this country is heading. Why I wrote “Part 2”? Read the history that was never allowed to be teached and learned. Google: Lolita Lebron.

Why Bomb Black Rock? You shouldn’t expect me to bomb P.T. Barnum Housing my place of birth. In a revolution places like Black Rock are targeted. It disrupts the tax-base for the City and State among other things. P.T. Barnum Housing still has Bomb Shelters and destroying them pose little threat to the tax-base among other things. Nothing here is a lie nor a suggestion. Am I clear?

      1. Lennie, what’s the source of the problem? It’s the cheap/poor quality of the glue applied to the envelopes. Keep in mind that the ballots are mailed and during this time of the seasons we had moist, wet weather, my niece complained about AB received damaged/wet and it was pretty much all stuck together. I voted two times by AB and both times I had to be careful sealing the envelopes. My niece didn’t have tape and I brought some to her and dropped off her ballot. DNA and fingerprints will confirm this.

  2. THERE IS STILL A “HANGING CHAD” IN THIS ELECTION THAT HASN’T BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED PROPERLY BY GOVERNOR NED LAMONT!

WHY WON’T NED LAMONT ACKNOWLEDGE THE DEAD “HANGING-CHAD” STINKING-UP THE BRIDGEPORT DEMOCRATIC HQ DURING THIS ELECTION SEASON?! (AIN’T NO BALLOT-STUFFING PROBLEM IN DEM DERE PARTS, MY DEAR, GULLIBLE CONNECTICUT CONSTITUENTS!)

IS NED AFRAID OF LOSING HIS OWN BRIDGEPORT BALLOT-STUFFING ELECTION ADAVANTAGE?! IS HE AFRAID OF PISSING-OFF THE BRIDGEPORT-CONNECTED TROLLS CONTROLLING THE CONNECTICUT- ELECTION BALLOT-MARGIN BRIDGE (AND CONNECTICUT STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY)?!

WHY WON’T THE GOVERNOR MAKE A STRONG STATEMENT ABOUT THE GANIM CAMPAIGN BALLOT-STUFFING -ELECTION RIGGING/ELECTION THEFT SCANDAL (the later word which has become synonymous with Bridgeport politics and Bridgeport political leadership…)

Now why would Governor Ned Lamont worry about another election putting true finality on this very, very bizarre, corrupt Bridgeport mayoral election season?! What “horse” does Ned have in this race?! Why has
Shouldn’t GOVERNOR Lamont be concerned about police surveillance videos of bales of ballots being secretly shoveled into absentee-ballot collection bins in the early morning darkness at Bridgeport City Hall #2 in advance of the September 2023 Democratic Primary by supporters of the mayor of Connecticut’s largest city?! Shouldn’t Connecticut’s governor want to see a full, court-mandated electoral process play-out to determine the candidate all of the voters in Bridgeport really want for their mayor (not just 15% of the registered democrats that voted for Ganim in round # 3 of this election cycle…). What is Ned afraid of? Is he counting on some more ballot-stuffing to get back in the Governor’s mansion in 2026. Does he NEED the current regime of ballot stuffers in place in 2026 to make sure that he stays governor or is in position to launch in another political direction? (It shouldn’t be forgotten that in 2010, Dan Malloy’s gubernatorial election bid was saved by 6 large bags of “miraculously discovered” Bridgeport ballots just as election night was about to go into the history books as a win for Republican Tom Foley…) Has Ned also benefitted from Bridgeport ballot stuffing?! Why hasn’t the governor pulled out all of the stops to get to the nitty-gritty facts of the Bridgeport ballot-stuffing scandal? Why is he afraid of a possible Lamond Daniels win on February 27? Could it be that he knows that politics as usual would change under a new regime in Bridgeport and that Bridgeport would no longer serve as the state’s corrupt “fixer” city for statewide Democrat candidacies?! SHAME ON GOVERNOR LAMONT FOR HIS DE FACTO ENDORSEMENT OF BRIDGEPORT CORRUPTION AND HIS ANTI-DEMOCFRATIC STANCE ON THE COURT-ORDERED GENERAL-ELECTION REDO SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 27! THE BRIDGEPORT ELECTION SEASON MUST BE ALLOWED TO PLAY OUT — HOPEFULLY WITH A WIN FOR JOHN GOMES AS BRIDGEPORT’S NEXT DEMOCRATICALLY-ELECTED MAYOR!!! (SHAME ON YOU, NED!) —— GO FOR IT, MR. GOMES!!
