AG Tong: Ranked Choice Voting Requires State Constitutional Amendment

In a legal opinion to House Speaker Matthew Ritter, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong declares Ranked Choice Voting under consideration by many state legislative bodies requires a constitutional amendment because the current charter does not authorize it.

So, such a measure if approved by the legislature for an amendment question voted by state electors could take years.

  1. I will not address the Tong letter until fully read and understood. However, will there be any question on the November Presidential ballot process that Connecticut citizens will be asked in 2024? If so, where is info, time to learn and prepare to be informed? Time will tell.
