Lori Argonese, Daughter Of Lisa Parziale

It’s impossible to know the pain a mother feels when losing a child. Former City Council President Lisa Parziale, OIB contributor extraordinaire, lost her daughter Lori on June 30th. On behalf of the OIB family our thoughts, prayers and strength.

Laurine “Lori” Argonese, of Trumbull, passed away suddenly on June 30, 2019. Lori was raised in Bridgeport where she graduated from Central High School in 1983. She was employed by the Southern Connecticut Gas Company where she remained for 34 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, niece, aunt, cousin and friend. Her contagious laugh, quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew her. Lori enjoyed hosting family dinners and especially loved time spent with her cherished granddaughter, Gianna.

Lori is survived by her mother, Lisa Parziale, her three beloved children; her son, Fernando Cortinhas and fiancé Ashley Edwards and granddaughter Gianna Cortinhas, her daughters; Monique Cortinhas and fiancé James Vig and Courtney Coyne, her aunt Nancy and uncle Bob Beardsworth, her niece, Anna DiGirolamo, her cousins; Annie Beardsworth-Stanziano and husband Tony and their children Nico and Luca, Todd Beardsworth and wife Jessica and their children Mason and Peyton, Lynn Smith and husband Terry, Frankie Cioffi and wife Tracy, Ricky Cioffi and wife Cherone, Christopher Cioffi and girlfriend Teresa, Elisa Falanga and husband Tim. Lori was predeceased by her beloved brother, Frank Argonese, her aunt Vikki Cioffi, and uncles; Victor Cioffi, Willy Cioffi and Frank R. Cioffi.

Lisa provided this update on her Facebook page:

I wish to express my profound gratitude to all my friends for the support and comfort they showed me upon the death of my Daughter Lori Argonese, on June 30th, 2019. There will be no viewing or Mass for Lori, she will be taken to Lawncroft Cemetery where she will join many of her family.

I will have a memorial service for Lori so her many friends, coworkers and all that knew her in life may spend time together and share their time and memories of her. It will be by invitation and will be held at Lawncroft Cemetery on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield. Time and date will be sent or posted for anyone who wishes to celebrate her life.

My greatest source of comfort is knowing Lori is now with her brother, Frank Argonese.

  2. I only have one child, and could not imagine losing her.

I don’t know what loss is greater than that of a mother losing her child

I have thought of you every single day and am here for you Lisa.

  3. Lisa my sincere condolences in the loss of your dear daughter. I lost my son two years ago suddenly and while the pain is never far from your heart time will repair the pain, but not remove the pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time and look to God for comfort and understanding while you heal from this hurt.

  4. Lennie, thank you for acknowledging the passing of my daughter Lori. While my pain has been unbearable, I know it’s the prayers of all of you that keep me going on. I lost my son Frank many years ago, but it’s my faith that allows me to keep going on. I know that Lori is now with her brother, and that she is in peace. As a young mother of 25 years old, it was always the three of us, we were happy and shared a love that only you as parents know. I know how blessed I was to have them, but I also believe that God loved them more, and wanted them back with him. If you pray, ask Him to give me the strength to send back my second child.

  5. The church service was beautiful. It was the largest church service for a funeral I have ever attended. There were hundreds in attendance.

    Rest in peace.
