The former Connecticut Post building at 410 State Street Downtown has been sold to a New York City investor. The building had been owned by Hearst Connecticut Media which has the largest digital footprint in Connecticut owning daily newspapers from New Haven to Greenwich including many weekly publications. Much of the Post operation has been shifted to the offices of the Norwalk Hour. The Post still maintains an editorial presence Downtown renting space on Broad Street.

The four-story, 57,870-sqaure-foot building on 410 State St. that housed the Bridgeport-based newspaper for nine decades was sold to an investor out of New York City for $1.15 million.
The transaction was announced Wednesday morning by Jon Angel, president of Fairfield-based commercial real estate firm Angel Commercial, LLC. The firm represented the buyer.
Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller.
According to a press release, the transaction was a result of a 1031 exchange.
“The plan is to remodel the building and offer it for lease,” Angel said in in the press release.
