Watch Senator Gaston: Davids Versus Corporate Goliath UI, Monopole Project Feels The Heat

State Senator Herron Gaston was among the chorus of local and state officials condemning United Illuminating’s massive high-voltage transmission line proposal across Fairfield and Bridgeport that will impact the entire state.

As a result of Governor Ned Lamont’s intervention and loud voices from elected officials, the Connecticut Siting Council has deferred a vote on the matter to Oct. 16.

Speedy, hate to “point” this out, pun intended 🙂

Of course, people of faith would say/believe the sky is not falling any time soon. The Greek God Atlas is holding it up, as a punishment from the king of the Gods, Zeus. though perhaps there was, well be a time, 🙂

    1. Oh boy, Robert Teixera is back. The reason I would love to see these towers in place is: It we ould be a perfect place to strap Robert Teixera on too. I heard he’s afraid of hight, but loves the bird’s eye view of Bridgeport and the long Island Sound.

Hey Robert, how much of a non-profit contribution from UI to Shilo (Rev. McCluster) and the Freemen foundation would it take for them to accept the reality of our time?

      1. As to how much, everyone has their own price, per-se. I am sure they; UI would love to have Bargain like you in Hartford. They just have to go to Port’s animal shelter and get you a flee infested hound. 🙂

I say flee infested, because you that cheap. They wouldn’t even have to wash to hound it could be missing limb too. BBBBAMM! 🤣

  2. John, questions about meaning perhaps need to be heard, reflected upon and carried out in conversation. But eventually a formed opinion would be what is wished. No?

Is Value versus Violence exclusive to and, or to what we wish for as Port residents to a doctor standard mindset. Or can they differ?

Are we Valuing the meaning to Speedy’s interpretation of JC’s “turn the other cheek” Do we dismiss the violence that preceded our current times, do we hold those times to our time, in an open, accountable, transparent, and honest means?

You talk about property of you and your neighbors, but from a history perspective and violent standpoint your blessing to own property, believe in God, if you choose to believe in a God freedom of expression, among other rights this country offers only exist through violence and conquest, as well as any and every black person who owns, works lives in this nation.

Are you going to give back your owned land to the natives, indigenous people and move back to your ancestry land?

Don’t and don’t see a mass exodus of now free blacks choosing to move back to any there ancestry lan/ nation or any other racial denomination for that matter. WEEPA, heritage is crossing the border, No? On the contrary, blacks, whites, and Latinos are, want to come here by any means necessary.

To your credit you are the only genuine person, including me, that takes a genuine approach to Port politics and governance who addresses, and graces CC/Port political processes of public speaking. Will, outside of that dude who got fired. 🙂

    Good Job John L 🙂

    1. Clarification,

To your credit you are the only genuine person, among the disingenuous, including me, that takes a genuine approach to Port politics and governance who addresses, and graces CC/Port political processes of public speaking. Will, outside of that dude who got fired. 🙂

  3. Speedy perhaps, the context of Jesus’s “turn the other cheek” resides in this context.

Context: The phrase comes from Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount, where he contrasted his teachings with the Old Testament law of “eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth”.
Meaning: Jesus wasn’t advocating for passive weakness but for a different way of dealing with wrong. He was instructing his followers not to seek revenge for personal insults or injustices.

The “Why” Behind the Command are

Demonstrating God’s Character: By responding to evil with love, followers show they are children of God, who “causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good”.
Transforming Culture: The teaching encourages a move away from a culture focused on honor and retaliation toward one of forgiveness and selfless love.
Seeking the Highest Good: The instruction is about seeking the highest good for everyone, even those who are acting poorly.
Creative Resistance: Turning the other cheek is a form of active, creative resistance that does not involve violent retaliation but instead uses acts of love and generosity.

But the why, like all things very in one’s perceived perspective of one’s own interpretation, No

Perhaps there is a SIMPLE rationale, to the parable, to the” why”, Don’t dig yourself into a deeper hole. It’s best to take a seeming, incited act/slap and turn the other cheek then to engage/exacerbate into something worse.

Do you know how many kids/adolescent minds are in jail or dead with grieving mothers and fathers, lives up-end, over a “slap” who didn’t turn the other cheek?

Clinton Howell, Alexander Bolanos comes to mind. Perhaps James McGrath, Raul Valle too.

  4. You heard the saying if you are going to lay down with stray dogs don’t be surprised if you wake up with fleas.

Case in point, here’s an inciting incident of evil at works, AKA slap. I got fined, taxed $250 bucks, which was clearly unjust and met with silence. You do your best to rectify it, sometimes you prevail, sometimes you don’t. I guess that’s the game, for better or worse. 🙂

By no means am I saying Speedy don’t adopt a dog, I am just saying check for flees. Pivot Port, Pivot. 🙂

  5. Speaking of Jews, and disingenuous political racial/racist rhetoric expression. Columbus Day is coming up. If you go in Ancestry.com,and find out you are part/% Columbus. Do you have to wear one of those ancient toupees?

This is how that went down, people:

Two balding high priests up late one night working in the Temple.

Priest one: How does it look?

Priest Two: It looks better. It covers the bald spot, but it doesn’t look too natural.

Priest One: Don’t worry, we’ll say something like God commands all the males to wear one. We will blend right in.

Priest Two: Nice, give me mine, how do I look?

    Priest One: Natural? 🤣

I say racial/racist political “expression” because it was racist to attach WEEPA’s / “Latino” “Catholic” Columbus to White England Protestant and the Black plight in America. No clip needed, Y’all know who you are.

  6. I depart with the prophet. However, funny thing about Will Smith’s slap, Chris was expecting it. He braced for it. They are actors and it was at the Oscars. The only thing that shocked Chris was how hard Will slapped him. Will must have channeled the emotion of Jada’s entanglement” IOM

At any rate Speedy did Chris turn the other cheek 🙂

P.S Instead of plotting and planning, I sneak into the Sound-on-Sound music festival next weekend (due to lack of funds) . I’ll be heading to church with my buck and praying/asking God to make it rain on all your other outdoor festivals you promote, you F-ing Pricks. 🤣

  7. We did it to Ma Bell, we can do it to the UI!!!
    AI Overview
Ma Bell was broken up due to a 1974 antitrust lawsuit filed by the US Department of Justice, which alleged that AT&T’s monopoly stifled competition in the telecommunications industry. As part of the 1982 settlement, AT&T divested its 22 local operating companies, creating seven “Baby Bells”. The breakup aimed to foster competition, increase innovation, and provide consumers with better services by replacing the telephone monopoly with a more open market.

  8. U and I aren’t seeing eye to eye on this one. Phone Technology has changed since the 80s. No one has figure out how to deliver electricity without using a wire.

While UI is considered to have a Monopoly in Bridgeport, here’s what you intentionally left out:

Yes, United Illuminating (UI) holds a monopoly on electricity distribution in Bridgeport, CT, meaning it is the sole provider of that service in the area. However, this exclusive franchise does not prevent competition in the energy supply market, as competitive suppliers are available for customers.
    Here’s a breakdown:
Distribution Monopoly: UI holds the exclusive right to distribute electricity to homes and businesses in Bridgeport.
Supply Options: While you must get your electricity distribution from UI, you are not limited to UI for your energy supply. You can choose from competitive suppliers available in Connecticut to provide your electricity.
Regulatory Oversight: The Connecticut Siting Council and the Public Utility Regulatory Authority oversee utilities like UI, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and address customer concerns.

    1. Now who are the competitive suppliers in Connecticut? If you are one of those people who don’t like or trust those who go door to door or solicitors who call to offer you better electricity rates, here’s a better method to explore the opportunity:
