North County Band performs every year voluntarily on behalf of the poverty-fighting Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
Band co-founder Scott Smith met Mayor Joe Ganim there on Thanksgiving. The mayor made a song request: can you write something about Bridgeport? True to his word Smith crooned the tune Wednesday afternoon with several City Council members attending. See video above.
The band is playing the Park City Music Hall June 1.
