UConn Promotes Brand In Bridgeport

It’s been proven over and over, give folks what they want and they will come. Once again it was validated with UConn basketball in Bridgeport.

The proof is also in the numbers: Leading up to Saturday’s game, WBA President Howard Saffan told the Connecticut Post that 90 percent of tickets were purchased by Fairfield County or New Haven County residents. In contrast, only five percent of season ticket holders at the XL Center are from Fairfield County. Fifteen percent are from New Haven County. A whopping 47 percent come from Hartford County. As UConn coach Kevin Ollie said, “I think there were a lot of families in the (WBA) audience that have probably never seen us play before.
