University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathy and the Ashe Faith Project, a Mt. Aery Development Corporation initiative, announce joint venture in clinic services. Open House and Grand Opening event Monday, April 2 at 12:30 P.M.
The University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Ashe Faith Project, an initiative of Mt. Aery Development Corporation, announce a joint venture to provide naturopathic medical services at the Ashe Faith Project located at 105 Frank Street, next door to Mt. Aery Baptist Church.
Minister Nancy Kingwood, Project Director of the Ashe Faith Project said, “I am so pleased to add the naturopathic services of the University of Bridgeport’s Naturopathic College to the range of offerings we have at the Ashe Faith center.” The Ashe Faith Project is born out of a significant need for services in the Hollow section of Bridgeport where Mt. Aery Baptist Church is located. The Reverend Anthony Bennett, Senior Pastor of Mt. Aery said, “Our church has a mission, lead by our faith, to reach out to all those in need and these increased services will help Mt. Aery to minister to those who cannot afford the wide range of health services available.” All members of the community are welcomed for HIV/AIDS prevention education, screening, testing, referral services and case management services. The Ashe Project also partners with Optimus Health Care to provide medical services and GBAPP, Inc. for additional HIV testing services.
“Our commitment to the greater Bridgeport community is evidenced by this new commitment to a satellite clinic at the Ashe Project,” said Dr. Jennifer Johnson, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at UB’s College of Naturopathy. “We look forward to providing care that treats patients holistically, educates them to healthy and natural options and encourages them to be the very best manager of their own health they can be.”
The satellite office at the Ashe Faith Project will provide patient care on Mondays from 2-6 P.M. at the ASHE Faith facility located at 105 Frank Street, next door to Mt. Aery Baptist Church. Services provided are free. Local community patients are seen for acute and chronic illness and treated through naturopathic therapeutics: nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle counseling, homeopathy, and physical medicine. Naturopaths are licensed to diagnose and treat disease and offer physical examinations and utilize lab testing. When needed, the treatment team works with other providers to best manage cases that require pharmaceutical intervention.
The community is invited to an open house on Monday, April 2 at 12:30 at the Ashe Faith Project, 105 Frank Street. There will be a short program followed by light refreshments.
