Ironic: Transit Bus Strikes Train Station Wall Downtown Bridgeport, Injuries Reported, Injury Law Firm Sponsors Bus

12/24 UPDATE- the roads have reopened.

On December 23, 2025, at approximately 7:41 PM, Bridgeport Police Officers and Bridgeport Fire Department personnel responded to the 500 block of Water Street to report of a Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority (GBTA) bus that had been involved in a collision with multiple vehicles and subsequently struck the Bridgeport Train Station.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the GBTA bus came to rest after making contact with the concrete station structure. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported several individuals to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment. At this time, the extent of injuries has not been determined; however, all transported individuals were reported to be alert and conscious prior to transport.

The Bridgeport Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded and is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As a result of the incident, the northbound lane of Water Street remains closed between State Street and John Street. Train service has not been interrupted.
