Tit For Tat In Historic Ballot Question–The Likeness Of Barack And Michelle On Opposite Sides

Michelle Obama
What does MO really think?

We haven’t seen a fight like this in a long time. In fact, we’ve never seen a fight like this. Yes supporters for Tuesday’s ballot question are using the image of Barack Obama to make their case to give the mayor the power to appoint school board members while the no side is leveraging wifey Michelle Obama to its cause. Do Barack and Michelle fight like this all the time?

Jim “Sonny” Fox who lives in Black Rock shared a mailer he received from Protect Our Voting Rights http://protectourvotingrights.wordpress.com/ The piece declares: “As First Lady Michelle Obama says, ‘We cannot let anyone discourage us from casting our ballots. It is up to us to make sure that in every election, every voice is heard and every vote counted.'”

Protect Your Voting Rights is a coalition of the Bridgeport Education Association, Connecticut Working Families Party, Connecticut Citizen Action Group and a variety of pols working against the ballot question. Protect Your Voting Rights and its opposition political action committee Residents For A Better Bridgeport www.residentsforabetterbridgeport.com are setting spending records on this ballot question. Hey, it’s good for the economy.

Finch, Obama
What does BO really think?

Residents For A Better Bridgeport features Barack’s image on its website. Nothing like a great American political family to cover both sides of an argument.

  1. Haha!!! These are the same people criticizing Residents for A Better Bridgeport for “illegally” co-opting the President’s image! At least Finch OWNS his image with the president. Where did these people get this image of the First Lady? Google images? Do they own the copyright to image? NOPE! The hypocrisy of these people on the No side doesn’t end, does it? Time to call the SEEC and file a complaint against them too!

    1. You have got to be kidding me. Finch owns that image of a photo op with the president? Yes he does but nobody has permission to use the president’s photo in such a way.
You know, everything according to you is alright if the yes people do it but wrong when the no people do it, amazing.
Whats the matter, do you feel the heat of losing the vote on Tuesday? I guess you and the other phoney self-centered crowd thought the people of Bridgeport would just lay down and let this happen. WRONG!!!
What’s the matter, upset to see blacks, whites and Hispanics working together in harmony for the greater good? If you are upset, too bad, it’s a sign of the future. No more getting screwed by self-centered politicians and their minions.

      1. Wow. Slow down Andrew Fardy. You don’t know me so stop your race baiting. Check yourself!

The fact remains the no side is comprised of a bunch of hypocrites who think it’s okay to attack their opponents for doing one thing and then they go ahead and do it themselves too. You can’t have it both ways.

It was wrong for them to illegally co-opt the first lady’s image just like it was wrong for Residents for A Better Bridgeport to use the President’s image. Anyone who criticizes RFBB but doesn’t do the same for the No coalition is a hypocrite too.

        1. Booster you are right. I don’t know you and I am probably better off not knowing you. No one knows you because you don’t have the courage to use your own name.
Race baiting, that is pure and utter bullshit. What’s the matter, don’t you like the fact blacks, Hispanics and whites can work together in harmony? Tough!!!
Our photo of the first lady was a response to your ad with the president and for which your groups were asked to stop using.
Based on all your posts I can say for sure you are the one who is misinformed.

          1. It must be tough to come face to face with the facts, huh? You have nothing to say about your hypocrite pals and so I rest my case. Your tactics are pathetic. When you can’t land an argument you accuse your opponent of racism. Weak, my friend. Weak! And “my ad?” Don’t recall putting one up. You also missed my comment about BOTH sides being wrong for co-opting the Obama’s to further their agenda.

          2. Nowhere in my post is there anything about racism Booster, you are full of it pure and simple. I have answered every half-assed comment you have posted and have proved over and over you have no facts and cannot debate properly.

  2. *** Two wrongs never make a right, no? But when it comes to some of the “roots of all evil” like “money and power,” all political ethics (especially if you appoint the board) goes out the window with the bathwater and sometimes the baby! *** VOTE “NO” AND HERE WE GO! ***

  3. I already decided my vote, Obama Murphy Himes and NO!!! My only concern is the way this is written people might just vote yes. Just hope we get a 40k turnout or more.

  4. VOTE NO ON THE FIRST ITEM ON THIS BALLOT. IT IS MISLEADING AND DOES NOT STATE “YOUR” VOTING RIGHTS WILL BE TAKEN AWAY. YOU WILL HAVE NO SAY AS TO WHO WILL SERVE ON THIS VERY IMPORTANT BOARD. DO NOT LET THE MAYOR DICTATE WHO HE WILL APPOINT AND “CONTROL” THIS BOARD. HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING, HE DOES NOT HAVE HIS “OWN” MIND, HE DOES WHAT HE IS TOLD TO DO BY OTHERS. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.
VOTE NO … VOTE NO …

    1. Voting rights as far as electing BOE members will be taken away … and once one part of voting rights are taken away, it’s not long until other rights (voting and otherwise) are also taken away.

    2. Pat: Can we vote to send him to the Wizard???

Probably not. If they won’t let us vote for members of the Board of Education, I doubt we have the right to vote to get Finch a brain. Oh well.

Any chance of you renting out those ruby slippers, Dorothy Fardy???

  5. Of course our voting rights should be taken away. We live in Bridgeport. We all know, with Finch and Testa, anyone would have to be pretty dumb to still be living in Bridgeport.

If you think you are so smart, then move to Trumbull, Fairfield or Westport, because hell would have to freeze over before someone would ever suggest taking away the right to vote for their Boards of Education. However, here in Bridgeport … we just stupid.

Stupid is as stupid does. If stupid votes to give away the right to vote??? Pretty stupid.
