The Recollective – Multi-Vendor Marketplace Set To Open Downtown

From Andrew DaRosa, CT Post:

The grinding of saws and smell of construction filled the air on Nov. 6 in downtown Bridgeport.

People walked in and out of the former Connecticut Post printing plant not with tools and construction materials, but rather antique goods, which are carefully brought in and set down into neatly-organized areas.

As construction wraps up at 588 State Street, vendors are coming in to set up their booths at The Recollective, the newest multi-vendor marketplace.

The Recollective comes from the ashes of Mongers Market, a popular marketplace on Railroad Avenue which closed down in June.

John Paul O’Grodnick, operations coordinator at The Recollective, was one of the vendors at Mongers Market before it closed — operating the MOJO Thrifts booth. O’Grodnick has been a driving force in getting The Recollective going, which has been in the works for four months.

  1. Very good idea. Plenty of pop up non brick and mortar businesses can use a spot like this. Shopping in Downtown Bridgeport like the old days before the malls. Great news This is what that looks like in 2026
