Good grief, what a mess. Union members torpedo state employee concessions approved by bargaining-unit leadership. Now the leadership wants to submarine the vote. From the CT Post:

These cuts will trickle down to the cities and will result in more Bridgeport employee layoffs. So then why in God’s name is Finch pushing through a two-year no layoff agreement for one union? This makes no sense; is unethical; unfair; irresponsible. The contracts committee needs to wake up and see what’s going on here.
Finch will only need them ’til September 13; if he wins, then he’ll lay them off. Or stick the new Mayor with a bad contract agreement.
