State Rep. Ayala To Join Vigil Against Gun Violence

From Connecticut Against Gun Violence:

State Representative Andres Ayala (D-Bridgeport) will be joining a candlelight vigil against gun violence set for Sunday, in coordination with the National Day of Remembrance organized by the Brady Center in Washington, D.C.

The event will mark and commemorate the first anniversary of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ shooting in Arizona while she was meeting with constituents, as well as gun victims and families across the nation and the state.

“Several local community organizations and elected officials are expected to participate,” Ayala said. “I am personally interested in promoting a safer environment for our children and families with a strong opposition to gun violence and am pleased to be a part of this effort. I encourage the public to attend and show their support.”

WHAT: CT Against Gun Violence Vigil

WHEN: Sunday, January 8

WHERE: Old Town Hall on Atlantic Street, Stamford with a march to the Unitarian Universalist Society, 20 Forest Street at Bedford Street
