Rosemarie Hoyt, Long-Time Director Of Department On Aging, Passes Away At 92

Rosemarie Hoyt was a fixture in city politics for a generation, having served more than two decades as head of the city’s Department on Aging. She passed away recently at age 92.

A Memorial Mass will take place Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Saint Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Avenue, Bridgeport.

HOYT, Rosemarie (Feroleto), age 92, of Bridgeport, CT, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1951. She was the Director of The Department on Aging for the City of Bridgeport for many years until she retired in June, 2015. Prior to moving back to Bridgeport, she raised her family in Brookfield, Ct. She was a lover of sports, a business owner, a beloved, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Predeceased in death by her parents Salvatore and Frances Feroleto, two brothers, Anthony Feroleto, Leonard Feroleto, and her son, Jeffrey Hoyt. She is survived by her three children. Mark Azzarito and his wife, Lori, Frances Pizighelli (Azzarito) and her husband, Mario, Richard Azzarito Jr. and his wife Erica. A daughter in law, Dali Zodalava. Eight beautiful grandchildren: Matthew, Leah, Richie III, Mario IV, Austin, Chad, Heather and Luke, and one Great Grandson, Noah. Several nieces and nephews and friends.

There will be a Memorial Mass at Saint Margaret’s Shrine 2523 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT, on November 4th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
