Police Make Arrest In Shootings That Killed Teenager

From Linda Conner Lambeck, CT Post:

The latest spate of violence in the city left a 14-year-old dead and a 17-year-old wounded on Christmas Eve. Bridgeport police said Luis Colon, of Wood Avenue, appeared to have been an innocent bystander when he was cut down by gunfire late Thursday afternoon.

Colon was standing next to a group of about 10 men on the sidewalk outside Stylz Barber Shop, at 1156 State St., at around 4:15 p.m. when Michael Majors, 23, of State Street, and Trey Kaiser, 17, of the same address, approached the group, police said.

Majors opened fire on the men, according to police, who said the incident was captured on a nearby security camera. Bystanders said they heard at least four shots …

Police said quick work by Sgts. Jason Amato and Dave Edwards led to Majors being identified as a suspect. Majors was questioned by police and confessed to being the shooter, authorities said. He was charged with murder and his bond was set at $1 million.
