From PD Facebook page:
AUTO SALES FRAUD AWARENESS
Purchasing a vehicle is one of the biggest investments many people will make. Unfortunately, scammers continue to target buyers through dealerships, private-party sales, and online marketplaces. Before purchasing a vehicle:Verify the VIN and ownership records
Obtain a vehicle history report
Inspect the vehicle in person whenever possible
Review all financing documents carefully
Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true
Stay informed, ask questions, and take the time to verify the vehicle, seller, and transaction details before making a purchase.
If you suspect auto sales fraud, contact the Bridgeport Police Department.
